Overview

Associates go through the following process:

  1. 1 Individuals meet with a development counselor. The development counselor starts a referral record. The referral is either enrolled or disqualified (referred to an external resource).
  2. 2 When a referral is enrolled, the system creates a contact and a case record. At that point, the individual becomes an associate. The development counselor assigns the associate to a program such as Deseret Industries or Development Counseling Services.
  3. 3 During an associate’s time in the program, several people manage his or her case through development discussions, notes, milestones, action steps, test results, and success indicators.
  4. 4 When an associate is placed in a job or fulfills his or her goals, the development counselor releases the associate from the program.
  5. 5 120 days after a release the case is closed.

Contact: A contact record has information about the associate such as a preferred name, phone number, emergency contact information, and so forth. Only one contact record per associate is created, regardless of how many times the associate returns to Deseret Employment for further training.

Case: A case record has all the details for goals, milestones, success indicators, notes, and so forth. A separate case is created each time an associate enrolls in the Deseret Employment training program. Therefore, a contact can have multiple cases.

  1. A red asterisk indicates required information.
  1. A blue plus sign indicates information that is needed before an associate can advance, such as before a referral can be enrolled.
